On Thursday 25th August from 12-2pm, Young Mining Professionals Brisbane will host our first legal lunch and learn event at Holding Redlich Brisbane on two topics:
1. Preparing and Negotiating Contracts (30 minutes)
From the perspective of the mine owner / project sponsor, this session will look at:
the typical contracts involved in developing and operating a mine;
the key stages / inputs and issues when preparing the tender documents and negotiating the contract; and
key commercial and contractual issues and risks to consider.
2. What you need to know – Competition Law 101 (30 minutes)
Competition law compliance is important with serious penalties for businesses and individuals for non-compliance. This session will provide you with:
an overview of the key competition law prohibitions
an overview of what you can do to ensure ongoing competition compliance
practical tips to avoid scrutiny by your competitors and the ACCC
Our presenters on the day are David Harley and Joanne Jary, Partners at Holding Redlich, Brisbane.
Within the two hour session, there will be time allocated for Q&A and networking. Lunch will also be provided thanks to our event sponsor Holding Redlich.
